Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) is a not-for-profit, non-denominational organization that supports social and economic development programs in Asia and Africa. Asan agency of the Aga Khan Development Network, AKFC works to address the root causes of poverty; finding and sharing effective and lasting solutions that help improve the quality of life for poor communities. Our programs focus on four core areas: health, education, rural development and building the capacity of civil society organizations. Gender equity and protecting the environment are integrated into every program. AKFC also actively engages Canadians on critical global issues and seeks to improve the quality of Canadaís development assistance and its internationally focused human resource capacities.
